Program Overview

The Vehicle Rescue Course has been developed for Emergency Response Group personnel to enable them to manage road accident rescue incidents efficiently and safely within their own environment.

Content

Cordage equipment and methods are essential for:

• Police requirements at road accident incidents (basics)
• Aircraft safety (using on site policies if they are in place)
• Information gathering and positioning of vehicles (safety)
• Securing the scene (basics)
• Concluding the incident (basics)
• Vehicle construction (light/medium)
• Vehicle construction (heavy, specialist information pertaining to mine vehicles; guided discussion format)
• Vehicle construction (buses/coaches, basics)
• Vehicle construction (fuel systems)
• Vehicle construction (in-built safety features)
• Vehicle stabilisation
• Gaining access
• Disentanglement (2 sessions)
• Casualty protection and care (primary & secondary)
  Extrication
• Practical sessions (approx 5 sessions)

 

Certification

This is accredited training. Successful participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
